Lesson Plan : Area of A Circle

This is my group’s task at course of Mathematics Education II in Elementary School, Area of A Circle.

LESSON PLAN

SUBJECT                             : Mathematics

TIME ALLOCATION        : 2 X 35 Minutes

A. Standard of Competencies:

3. Calculate the area of ​​a simple polygon, area of ​​a circle, and the volume of a triangular prism

B. Basic of Competencies :

3.2. Calculate the area of ​​a circle

C. Indicators

1. Find the formula of ​​a circle area;

2. Calculate the area of ​​a circle with a radius varying sizes

D. Learning Objective

Through the teacher’s explanations and discussion:

1. Students an find the formula of ​​a circle area;

2. Students can calculate the area of ​​a circle with a radius varying sizes

Opening Activities

  1. Pray together before learning
  2. Teacher checks students’ attendance
  3. Apperception (mention the characteristics of circle)
  4. The teacher tells learning objectives

Main Activities

  1. Teacher presents the material slides that containing how to find the circle area formula
  2. Teacher divides the class into 5 groups of heterogeneous
  3. Teacher explains the task group Teacher observes students’ activities during the discussion
  4. Teachers call the group leader of each group to get a different task with another group.
  5. Each group discusses the material
  6. After discussion, each group presents the results of the discussion group
  7. All students given a chance to give his response to the report
  8. Teacher gives clarification of the validity of student reports. Provide reinforcement if it is correct and straighten if it is incorrect

Final Activities

  1. Teacher guides students make a conclusion about learning today
  2. Teacher gives a moral message to the students by the animated film media
  3. Students pray and leave the class

  1. Jari-jari sebuah lingkaran  adalah 14 cm. tentukanlah luas lingkaran tersebut ?

  1. Jari-jari sebuah lingkaran adalah 21 cm. tentukanlah luas lingkaran tersebut?

Kelompok 3

  1. Jari-jari sebuah lingkaran adalah 28 cm. tentukanlah luas lingkaran tersebut?

Kelompok 4

  1. Sebuah taman yang berbentuk lingkaran memiliki diameter  14 m. tentukan luas taman tersebut

Kelompok 5

  1. Untuk mengatasi kemacetan lalu lintas,dibuat sebuah bundaran.  Di tengah bundaran dibuat kolam air mancur dengan jari-jari 35 m. hitunglah luas lingkaran bundaran tersebut?
